Can you have Too Much Event Technology?

Rob Hamlin of Trade Show News Network, recently read a report regarding the proposed technology for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. The report stated that there could be tech-savvy toilets that record blood pressure and body temperature. The report prompted Rob’s article, “How Much is Too Much When It Comes to Event Technology?

Rob suggests that technology could quickly become a distraction if trade show exhibitors continue to compete for the most innovative booth at an event. He highlights Event Designer and Technology Consultant, Joe English’s point that attendees may miss your company’s main message. Joe explains, “People come to events to experience something specific –let’s say a concert or a sporting event. When we start distracting them away from the music or the game, then we’ve crossed over the line.” Having too much technology could harm the user experience, instead of enhancing it.

Technology can be used to provide a value offer for your customers – leverage technology to give VIP customers a unique, upgraded experience.
