Checklist for Perfect Trade Show Visuals

Having high quality visuals displayed at your booth is one of the most important aspects of exhibiting at a trade show. Event Attendees can quickly identify poor quality from good quality work. Play it safe by seeking out printer referrals from a colleague when looking for a new resource. Custom print houses are typically very knowledgeable and can guide you through the print process if you are printing for the first time. They can also advise you on what will work best for you to ensure you get the best results.

Ben Camerota, President of MVP Visuals, has compiled a list of the three most important things to remember when ordering prints for your upcoming event, in his article, “3 Artwork Tips to Show Off the Perfect Visuals.

  •  Resolution | There’s nothing worse than blurry pictures. Low quality photos get noticed immediately. Print jobs of all sizes must have high-resolution images. Resolution is measured in dots per inch (DPI); for best results, never use images with less than 150 DPI on any print job.
  • File Type | Vector files are the ideal file type for large-scale printing. Every element of a vector file is enlarged proportionally to ensure sharp, clean printing. Raster file types also work, but you will need a high-resolution image to prevent pixilation.
  • Color Reference | The colors on custom-print visuals are often incorrect. Your colors should be the same every time to prevent clashing. Providing your printer with a Pantone Matching System, or PMS number, can help ensure you get the same result consistently. PMS is a standard for colors and shades. Colors can vary deepening on the material they are printed on. Save time and money by remembering to request a sample before you receive final prints.
