Generate Leads Using Four Tech Tools

Posted by in Planning, Tips, Trends

Collecting and storing the contact information for people you meet at trade shows can be much less daunting if you use the time-saving tools recommended by Kristin Hovde of Smash Hit Displays. Writing for TSNN.com, Hovde points out that trying to save business cards for hundreds or thousands of people is inefficient (even worse, you’ll probably lose some of them).

To generate leads and simplify the follow-up process, try using these four technology tools:

  1. Handheld scanners that capture the barcode information on attendees’ badges are helpful because you can keep one with you as you move around the trade show booth.
  2. Tablets or iPads allows people to learn about your product or service, and input their contact info, even if you’re busy. Hovde suggests leaving space for a comment or question on the tablets, or using them to take surveys or make presentations.
  3. QR codes enable booth visitors to scan a code with their phone and easily go to your website or landing page. You’ll find plenty of free apps to help.
  4. Mobile apps, including the QR-code scanning apps, are available for business owners and employees. All it takes is some research to find the ones that will work best to generate leads for you.

Hovde suggests you still keep notes on prospects to recall personal details or conversations you may have had about possible solutions to their specific problems. Follow up a week a two after the trade show and put those leads to good use.
