In With a Good Game Plan

Do you have a winning game plan? Budgets have become tighter than ever. We have had to adapt to doing more with much less. Besides, management wants a play-by-play of how you are going to maximize their investment in your trade shows and events. It is important to get management’s buy-in early.  The most successful programs are those that are well thought out, match the corporate culture, mission and branding guidelines with believable justifications.

Here are a few key steps to help you kick-start the planning and tracking of your program.

  1. Compile all the data
    • Start by putting together your universe of potential shows with your target audience(s).
    • Drill down and gather pertinent data on each show and note how they compare
    • Compile measurable data to support attending each trade show. This is a KEY metric.
  2. Get management to buy-in. Establishing and then reinforcing the rules can show management you have a game plan.
  3. Track of results. This is the MOST important metric. Analyze your data and make changes as needed. Implementing these changes and making the right moves is what can lead you to next year’s winning game plan!
