High-Density Wi-Fi Network at Anaheim Convention Center

A $2.5 million investment by the Anaheim Convention Center and Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau (ACC) was unveiled in January, according to an article by Trade Show News Network. The upgrade means ACC will be one of the first convention centers to offer free wireless access in all areas of the venue. The ACC partnered with Smart City Networks for the installation of the new Cisco-based high-density network. The new system can accommodate the growing number of mobile-device users.

The system allows faster, more streamlined wireless service, with 700 access points throughout the Center. Until now, this configuration had only been used for stadiums. Coverage and bandwidth are increased, Cisco’s Mobility Service Engine (MSE) is included, and Cisco’s Prime Infrastructure enables Location-Based Service (LBS) at the facility.

The projected upgrades will put the ACC on the map as being the first convention center on the west coast with 10-gigabit connectivity.
