Leverage Your Current Audience to Build Future Attendance

Though the tradeshow industry is rapidly changing, a few things remain constant. Connecting with customers and building a large audience are critical aspects of successful exhibiting. Becky Hansen, Executive Vice President of Event Services at Convention Data Services, explains how to leverage current attendees to create excitement and build attendance for your next event.

Create registration opportunities. Make it easy for attendees to register for your next event. The easier and faster the process, the more likely it is that a customer will commit. Place registration booths in areas with heavy foot-traffic and be sure to include clear signage encouraging signups. Another option is to create signage with a QR code or link that directs attendees to a registration page. Even if your registration isn’t open yet, you can still link users to an inquiry page or let them sign up for email notifications.

Offer incentives. Attendees tend to make stronger commitments to events when incentives are involved. Give guests a discount for signing up early or promote early registration as a way for attendees to be the first to select courses and seminars.

Spread the word. Promote registration for your event as much as possible. Make sure your signage and promotional materials include information on how to register for your next event. When promoting your event online and on social media, include a call-to-action link and direct users to a registration landing page.
