Advances in social media allow for specific audience targeting and measurable results. Organizers can market their events by pushing content year-round.

Jean Whiddon, President of Fixation, thinks it will be valuable to help attendees form communities within a large event. Having a group of like-minded individuals makes the event more manageable, more memorable, and less overwhelming.

Bob James, Sales Communication Manager at Freeman, argues that crowdsourcing will lead the way for consumers to make buying decisions. Similar to how people read Amazon reviews for products and Yelp reviews for restaurants, event goers will rely on feedback from fellow attendees for trade show information.
