Trade Show Industry Reaches Highest Growth in Eight Years

The performance of the business-to-business trade show industry continues to improve after a big increase in the first quarter of this year. The Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) reported even stronger results in the second quarter of 2015: a year-on-year gain of 3.8%. The CEIR Index determines overall performance by measuring yearly changes in four key metrics: Net Square Feet of Exhibit Space Sold, Professional Attendance, Number of Exhibiting Companies, and Gross Revenue.

Allen Shaw, Chief Economist for Global Economic Consulting Associates, states that the promising second-quarter results “show that the exhibition industry is on a solid position for growth this year.” In fact, this development is the second highest rate since the second quarter of 2007. It also marks the 20^th consecutive quarter of consistent yearly growth.
